Re:

TAPS I still will have a go at them as they believe 90%  goes down the sewer and this house was built 1970 so it has its own soak aways for roof water, no harm in trying.

In Baltimore a lot of people are angry over their water bills. The system keeps failing and coming up with incredibly high bills...It's wonderful when someone is able to mend those broken hearts.

Actually, now that I think about it, when you divide your yearly water bill into monthly parts, it doesn't really seem much higher than it would be here.

That flower looks almost the same color as a scarlet pimpernel.
That seems like a mighty big water bill to me.

Re:

Well done Jay, yes I think the sunshine is working somehow. My main worry will be watering what I do plant, I think I shall grow mainly flowers this year, the ladies are getting restless I can see them casting an observant eye to see if I'm still standing.

They sure like to take bunches of flowers out of my buckets for free, I suppose it might feel like someone loves them. Glad you are pleased with the machine.

Re: How do you feel about wearing someone's used vests?STRAIGHTFORWARD

Ms S.F. about the same as eating fish out of the sea, where ships discharge, well whatever they discharge. These are not really used as the wearer put them on and could not stand the garment. If you have a few to spare or any other person reading this I can collect obviously. You have made me smile

I think we pay about the same, just a bit over 600 a year here. It is good to know that you feel you are getting stronger. I got the tiller put together today and turned the whole garden spot. I just hope I have enough seeds to fill it.

Re: SAM

Sam you are the lucky one. but I have too tell you it is raining, not cats and dogs,, but sweet violets, that brings the flowers to bloom in May. I think hoeing is a good all round exercise especially if you can watch someone else doing it.

Re:KABU take your pill

Kabu      Yes I expect water is a bit pricey out there, let's face it we are supposed to get rain here all the time. I thought you were overdoing it a bit, but I didn't say anything. It is jolly frustrated though when you want to move heavy pots etc. To think, eek am I going to pay a price for this later on. I had some bags of compost for potting, they weigh about 90 pounds and feel much heavier this year, that's life in the slow lane.

Re: Chiff.Chaff.

Yes Wiley, 100 years ago here and most folk had wells and then a big water tower was built of red bricks presumably water pumped up into it was then distributed to those who could afford to have a water pipe fitted.

Re: I've never seen a frost that hovers above the ground. PAT

Lo Pat, when I had a small nursery, the thing we dreaded along now was a radiation frost. It happened usually on a full moon and if one had plastic tunnels large ones walkabout type, it could actually be colder inside than outside on a moonlit night.

The remedy  was to close all outlets early and let the tunnels mist up i.e.  Be covered in condensation, this acted as glass and gave protection ,  Here we have had several days of sunshine this is just enough to warm the soil and although cars may show frosty surfaces, gardeners sometimes escape light frost damage. Of course  I expect you know the old trick of washing the frost off, it is when the sun melts the frost that the damage occurs, I must put an old rewrite if I can find it, although I think most have read it .

No of course not (my duck) that is a term used here in friendly terms.  loved it. the time difference sometimes plays illusions as to where one has read previously

Re: CCTJusti

Justi I might be able to reduce mine slightly, I'll have to give it a go yours is roughly a third of mine, but perhaps you have more water resources and we are being overcrowded with folk from every where, I would not be surprised if one day we have treated sea water. Take care.

The broken heart is a tough occurrence but time seems to be the best healer! The yard work and gardening are so demanding but I do love it! I try to do a little bit everyday and call it good! I am trying to avoid sore muscles that I don't use in winter, maybe I should get on a gardening exercise program, lol! sam

I think we paid ar least that much when I lived in Sydney ...well anywhere

in Australia actually. I am sorry that you aren't feeling so chipper at present. perhaps as it warms up so will your bones and muscles. I am sad to say that I am feeling a bit older myself this year in the garden. May have to stop carting boulders soon.

CCT, now that must have been quite the frost..

I've seen a few like that - almost eerily beautiful - but there's nothing eerie about that flower...thats a real "wake-up colour"....

I've never seen a frost that hovers above the ground.

But thanks to your description, I can easily imagine it!

Flowers & Butterfly  Your poem today is precious and the flower is beautiful as usual. I'm very glad  you read the post on the lowly tea bag . I was debating if you would think me rude by asking you to visit a certian blog.

CCT

All of this is great. You stay away from digging in icy pools.  I love the flower the intensity of color is awesome. I don't know how to translate your money. My water, recycling and sewer cost $127 for 2 of us. I think that is radical. I loved the poem, the lyrics were sweet and flowed like honey on to buttered pancakes. Be blessed friend.
