Wow – I have thought of Sally often and had no idea she had a stroke. I know she had a heart attack a number of years back but had bounced back from that, had left the man she was engaged to at the time, and was rebuilding her life. That’s the last I had heard. This update made me feel sad.

Thank you for sharing....I was thinking about Offbeat just the other day, wondering how she was doing.  We used to have such good times in her pub.....we'd drink and trade insults and songs....I especially remember times when I first came on here with Passion, Offy, Tim and Strat....laughing so hard I was always spewing drinks out my nose and onto my screen....especially at Tim's attempts to seduce Offy.  One night he actually got all of us to basically tell him the color of our nipples....bad boy!!!  And the adventures....one was Passion's tale of us on a trip out on the ocean....I think Bel was along by then....there had been a group before I joined....the memories go on and on....I remember a contest to write a story or poem about kumquats.....  Anyway, I loved talking to her on the phone while she drank her Bailey's and coffee and told me her adventures in looking for love in online dating sites.....  I miss her and hope she is happy in her own world.

Naut, thanks for sharing this with us....

I can picture Offy in my mind's eye..she did have a great sense of humour...both subtle and silly...

Never knew her, but yes, she will be in my prayers.

Damn!

This breaks my heart.  I remember the early days here when there was a large playful group.

A few had very public breakdowns (Passionflower and Blanche), others seemed to fade away Sally and Maggie...others took their promotion to heaven (Joe).

Somehow, each feels like a deep loss to my soul and reminds me how precious time truly is.

The first time I ever read Sally/Offy, she was still OffBeatPub and she wrote about there being a wet-T-shirt contest in her establishment and while that was going on someone stole all the bras and hid them in the freezer.  She was quite a cutie.

I do remember Sally as a very special person. Her first email to me was giving support when one of our bloggers attacked me on Corbin's blog. It's good to know Maggie is well and remains close to Sally. This is indeed sad news!

In fact, I was thinking of Sally and her love of the flowers

as I was posting the recent wildflowers.

Thanks for sharing this with us!

That's so sad. Yes, I do remember her well and fondly.

And Maggie Mae, as well. I hate to see the dimming of those bright lights. :(

My goodness how horrible for her! She was leaving or at least blogging less and less as I joined so I did not get to know her all that well! Such a sad thing to have happen! sam
