Wiley .. To know this little ditty brought forth such emotion from you touches my heart. Jesus will be proud that you choose to keep the copied words in your heart!

Just before my father-in-law passed away, he planted a dogwood tree in our back yard as a remembrance for him. Whether it is blooming or not, it will always be referred to as "dad's tree."

Missouri is full of blooming dogwood trees, especially the white flowers, and especially in the wooded Ozark Mountains where my grandmother was born and raised before she and her family took off in a covered wagon for the Oklahoma Territory.

Thank you, BrightIrish.  I have heard this before...it reminds me of something once given to me by a friend.  THE LEGEND OF THE DOGWOOD TREE.  I have to say that Dogwoods and willows are my favourite of all the trees God created.  I wonder how the weeping willow got its name?

Lovely, lovely. They are blooming everywhere here now. That is one of my favorite blooming trees, shrubs whatever it is called. Thanks for posting this.
