That sounds like an interesting book - that it pleases neither side is good, because in any conflict both sides have some elements of fault, some things they did to make the situation worse, whatever their original intent.

Re: Katray2

We are involved, WileyFriend. From giving aid, selling arms, troops in the Middle East. As far as deeper involvement, there is a war weariness here that cannot be ignored, regardless of what party is in power. We are bankrupt, economically and morally; the tank is on E - for empty and enough. I am posting these pieces in an attempt to show that neither side is blameless; to show the bigger picture. Probably pointless, as we live in a world where might makes right, even if it's wrong and where the un-empowered are easily subjugated, just fodder for the frenzy. But I feel a drive to keep trying..I thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts.

Katray2

I venture to say this entire matter will not be solved without horrendous violence and America will have to be involved. I wish I felt it would be different, but it will not be. " A bad peace is even worse than war." (Tacitus)

Re: The whole picture is one of tragic mismanagement by many and I wouldn't

Very true, Dear Kabu. I don't have all the answers either but feel for any solution to work and be enduring propaganda must give way to truth, from the beginning to current day, violence must be shunned in favor of reason and meetings of a common hope for security and normalcy and attitudes of religious dominance must be kept out of the discussion - both sides on each of these.

The whole picture is one of tragic mismanagement by many and I wouldn't

presume to tell anyone how it could be fixed. I believe that there are placed in Israel where the two peoples live in harmony. Well it would be nice if we could all live in harmony on this third rock from the Sun.

Re:

Yes, indeed, FSI. Both sides have made tragic and brutal mistakes and both deserve to live in peace and security. I think looking at the whole picture honestly, from beginning to now serves that hope better than narrow minded bias and fear mongering.

Re:

Creating an environment of warfare and terror gave reason to flee; then a huge refugee problem was born. Your response is fine, CCT and thank you.

A complex history is what I find it all to be.

Ray I guess one does not stay if the environment is not right. I Hope that is the right answer.
