I have a Canon, it is OK but it is nearly 5 years old and has done a lot of
work. I would replace it with a HP. if I had the money. Good luck because it does read as though you could do with one.

Well, when it comes time for a new printer, do your homework! Some printers will do more than you need, others won't have as many functions. And also be warned: many printers out there cost far less than the ink replacement cartridges! If you do a substantial amount of printing ( especially black & white ) you'd be better off with a laser jet. The cost per page is significantly cheaper! One last tid-bit of advice: Hewlett-Packard is still the best, followed closely by Canon and Brother, but stay away from Dell or Lexmark! Trust me!
