I hope Harlan never found out.

What a story!  As far as I know, no one ever offered my mom or dad anything for me--not even Bob when he asked dad for my hand in marriage.

I loved '47 the Hudson, and of course that is the first time I seen a Packard rammed up a dealers rump, but good on ya luv.

You turned down a brand new pakard AND a TV???????? LOL.

Good for you. If I didn't want to date a certain Boy, I always told them to ask my Dad. I could always rely on Dad.

Re: CCT - One wonders what happened to the lad...

He stayed in the area, my younger sis remained friends with them and stayed in touch even after she moved to Oregon. Harlan, if I were writing the story of his life, went on to run an Arthur Murray franchise dance studio, married a tall, natural blonde Swedish girl, and they had four darling adorable children.

What a compliment to you Pat, he probably thought that you would make a man out of the boy, but it was a bit silly to run him down first. If he had not been so weedy, he would probably have been a good prospect.I think the genetics probably paid a part in your reckoning, subconciously of course. Of course now one wonders what happened to the lad.

Great story, but what a story! It's the first time ever I'm reading of a father play shadchen for his son...
