This a very thoughtful piece. It explains what one is likely to do other trying circumstances; and advises us to be prudent. Yet you blame no one. Very objective.

Of course it's a tragedy! But I am also very concerned over the way that guy Zimmerman is being 'tried' in the media! And I have also read that some groups (Black Panthers?) have put a bounty on his head...

I think that one of the most unfortunate aspects of that entire incident is . . . it's happened before, and it will happen again. A terrible tragedy!

Amusing (the streak, lol) and deeply thought provoking!

Excellent suggestion - a camera instead of a gun. I wonder if we're going to become a vigilante state as opposed to the police state many feel we have become.

I agree with that one should carry a camera as opposed to a gun! I have been sick over this incident and I really want to see justice so that another parent does have to go through what Trayvon Martin's parents! I will always believe this was an unnecessary killing of teenager! sam

I probably would've streaked too

I'm terribly possessive over certain things.  I feel very sorry for the Martin family and as the mother of a sixteen year old would hate to think of my child's cellphone going off repeatedly, unanswered and nobody thinking to check it.  If you have a cellphone, you're connected to someone, regardless of me not knowing the procedure, I believe it should be the first thing that should be checked in terms of information and I really can't conceive of an excuse for not doing so.

Kabu...

As I raised my sons, and even now, I can't think of anything more tragic than to have their lives lost forever. I honestly don't know how parents deal with it, partiularly in a tragedy like that.

at least you wouldn't have been able to reload ....sorry .....

I am sure you have had every joke possible thrown your way and being robbed is an abuse. a violation and no one knows how they would act.....

My heart does go out to the parents of that boy though!
