Loved the story. We should never ignore the nudgings of those who have passed over (even if we don’t fully understand why).

Amazing! How sweet to know that she's okay.
Reading your post this a.m. was like starting the day with a big warm hug.

You're right, CCT
There are many things we humans don't understand, so put it down to mystery. I am sure the visits with her will do me as much good as they could do her! She is a fun lady with a lovely laugh.

Beautiful, UtahJay,
Your grandmother arrived to help him cross over. Like you, I can remember studying my mom's face and thinking what wonderful skin she had, even at her age, as she left us.

You're right, food4thought.
I felt the same way with Laura - it was as if we chatted every day. It would have been interesting to hear the experiences of your friend if he HAD been wearing a white robe and involved with a cult. I can just imagine what kind of a post you would write about that, LOL!

Thank you, Wiley
Laura is a lovely person. I'm finding it hard to believe that I let the world get in the way of my keeping in touch with her. We're making that right now.

Of course it was your son, Justi.
My oldest son, Bow, is a very down-to-earth, doubting Thomas where these experiences are concerned. He and Bird were close, and when I told him what had happened, surprise-surprise...he had been visited by Bird too! He was still shaking his head over it. Bird was smoking when Bow had his visit, and the smell of those Indian cigarettes lingered when Bird left too. My son is a non-smoker - it floored hm. I think it's wonderful!!

Didn't that make your day, TAPS?
When Laura said "Well Rhonda! Darling, I am so happy to hear your voice!", it certainly made mine.
It is so kool to find that she is the same Laura!

Re: That Bird is a character he remains in your heart and through your dreams
Bird sure was, Kabu. This week was both my mom's & my sister's birthdays, so my family may have been more in my thoughts than usual. As for the decision, I'm still making my list of pros & cons, LOL!

She told me she still takes her nip, Nautikos.
On Wednesdays and on Saturdays - a couple of glasses of brandy. She suggested that I might like to choose one of those two days for a visit so that I could join her, LOL!

I expect we will have a good visit, Sam.
She is a cheerful soul, and very bright. I can remember her house being full of books, which is always a good sign.

A lovely thing to do, I expect she will be thrilled to receive a new visitor, apparently she
is comfortable and was somehow in Bird's thoughts. Some things have no explanation.

I was with my Father when he passed. He had been motionless for 3 months when we were called to hospital. I was with him when he sat up in bed and smiled, he then said mama, laid back down and was gone, smile still on his face. I remember closing his eyes and thinking how blue they were...I understand.

That connection...
That we feel with some people is amazing. I saw an old friend after 25 years and we took up as if no years had gone by. The rumors weren't true, he wasn't wearing a white robe and involved in a cult, he is a college professor in North Dakota. It sounds as if your connection is quite the same.

That was a lovely thing to do no matter what the persuasion, all that matters is you acted out of love. That is you, with your beautiful mind and heart for so many. Kabu and I both feel that love from you.

Oh such a blessing that will be to her and I am assuming to you as well. The elderly are so kind they appear to have no axes to grind. I loved this post.
I don't know if I have told you about my oldest son who was the first of the two to die. He died in May. In July my daughter, his little sister, had gone to camp. Her birthday was in the week of camp. I got a telephone call early one morning and immediately I recognized my son's voice, no doubt about it. I screamed his name, he ignored that totally and said. "Mom don't forget to call camp today and let them know it is sissy's birthday". He immediately hung up, never heard again. Nobody in the world could make me believe that could have been any other person in the world. I do know what you are talking about.

When I was still working before I retired, an old lady in her nineties that I had known about thirty years before was admitted. She had fallen and broke her hip. I recognized her name immediately as it was a very unusual name. Otherwise I'm not sure I would have known who she was. But, I was totally amazed when she immediately said, "Betty Stone! I'd know your voice anywhere."

That Bird is a character he remains in your heart and through your dreams
I often feel the presence of Wendy who died over six years ago..(double cousin/sister) and have told Wiley that she had something to do with my happiness now.
Bless you love and wondering how the decision making is going????

How utterly cool, Adnohr! I hope you have a wonderful visit! Good thing you got in touch with her or if Bird had to remind you again he might plunk you on the head!
