I just don't know Naut, when we post in News and Politics we put ourselves out there and we must expect some backlash so to speak. Myself, I try keep informed on the world around me, and because Israel is one of my countries Allis, and because I love the Jewish people and I see the danger they are in from all sides, I stand with them solidly, and because you represent the situation in the Middle East so close to the way I understand it, I stand solidly with you. I tried to explain to some of these folks that both Jordan, and Syria took more land from what was once known as Palestine as the Jewish people did (though I must admit that I do not know why someone thought it proper to rename Ancient Israel, I guess it is kind of like calling the ancient land of Judea the West Bank) and that perhaps those two countries could give some of their occupied land back to their neighbors, or they could fire rockets at themselves. So you see it would be improper for me to comment one way or the other on this subject.

What Kabu said in her comment makes a lot of sense to me, and I could not have said it any better myself.

What you are writing in these blogs is serious stuff, Nautikos, and it takes much courage and research to publish as you do. It's informative, and it will often send me scurrying off to look up more on the subject which, I imagine, it is meant to do. As with anything this serious, and this real, it is to be expected that comments with a different point of view will be forthcoming; in fact, I am surprised that it hasn't happened before now. From your last sentence in this post, I believe that is not so much the opinion (the freedom to express is the basis of your writings, is it not?) but the way it was expressed, that instigated this post. I certainly hope there is no blogit war - we have enough of that outside of here - and I would be terribly disappointed if energies would be wasted on war instead of the brilliant writing that I so enjoy.....

I see a lot of things posted as rights of discussion and attempts at understanding that do not even exist. Just because one finds fabricated information and uses it as a baseball bat of defence against a gnat it is supposed to be fine in some circles. It is coming back here. It is a shame. We have had a nice peaceful time for a while. You and I do not agree on many things. The way we have approached that is believe what we want without brow beating the other. I have tremendous respect for you. You can see things far differently than I but you are a gentleman and that is almost a lost art.

I went, I read, I think I understand what ticked you off. Let this be a lesson to me to be careful of what I put on someone else's comments page. I know I have been beleaguering gomedome lately with things that might not, in his opinion, be relevant to his posts.

Re:
Sam I surely hope you are not including me in those who have "great contempt" for Christians because nothing could be further from the truth! I respect all religions and those who have no beliefs. I believe looking at the bigger picture and not just narrow angles of what is going on in the world is the pathway to finding security and peace for everyone. I don't deliberately "stir the pot" but I have no regret if that is what my blogging does and is understood to not have a hateful, rude or overbearing intent. Because I embrace civility, decency in communications and our collective connections as human beings. Truth rises...

Hmm, methinks the gentleman protesteth too much...
Did I aggravate a nerve or something?
If so, my apologies for upsetting you; I was trying to explain why I disagree with you; no insult or rudeness intended. Actually my comments on your last post contained elements of agreement.
You have singled me out by my name/s in an unfriendly and provocative manner - which, btw, speaking of negative or even against-the-rules blogging behavior, could be cause for complaint. However, I do have thicker skin, so mums the word, as far as I'm concerned. So delete the stuff I posted, if you haven't done so already and I will express my views elsewhere.

I like to read the different sides of discussions. It helps me to keep an
open mind, but I don't like to read of my friends hurting or being hurt. You are a very talented and educated gentleman and dear K. is a compassionate, forgiving and fair minded sweetie.

I believe there is great contempt for Chrisitians, and a few on Blogit are expressing that now with the return of another blogger who shares this view (not the one you cite). Some just like to stir the pot and so it shall be. However, since Christians have aligned themselves with Israel, they become the favorite target! For the sake of brevity, Israel is God's chosen people for three basic reasons:1) they were the fewest; 2) He swore to the forefathers whom He brought out with a mighty hand and redeemed them from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt; 3) they were to be priests, prophets and missionaries bringing the word of God to the world. And Christians believe that even though ancient Israel failed in their task, as so many of us do, the ultimate purpose for Israel was bringing the Messiah into the world in the person of Jesus Christ. If one can't wrap their head around that then the opposite view is embraced and an attempt is made to discredit wherever possible! Thus this attempt is made, almost unceasingly! As a result, and in my humble opinion, Palestine is seen as the victim, and therefore Israel becomes the bad guy as it were! I don't believe there will ever be a meeting of the minds because of how Christians believe and the willingness of so many to not accept this belief who are not Christian. So, to this end you will get the comments from those who are stalwartly opposed to Christians in support of Israel! sam
