No box for some reason; anyway, I have found gay parades to be excessive

K...

My first exposure to gays was at my sister's, her brother-in-law is gay. He and his "friend" as we called him then were at the house for a meal and a round of games. As the evening wound down and they were getting ready to go, I heard them carping at each other about the usual, who didn't wash the dishes and who's turn it was to take the garbage out. That much, at least seemed pretty normal to me. They weren't physically affectionate, at least not that I saw. I agree on the point, does every sit-com have to have a gay person/couple? And if it is the gay sex that bothers people, let them get married, experience seems to bear out, there would be a lot less of that there gay sex after they are married. Thanks for the thought provoking post.

Krisles

As so often, I agree with you completely. One sometimes gets the impression that, in the eyes of some gays, being 'hetero' is  somehow infra-dig...

I remember a few years ago I was being screamed at by a gay guy at a party because I had voiced my objection to having people march down the street with their dangly parts hanging out during the Gay Pride Parade. The funny thing was that a gay friend of mine who was standing right next to me told that idiot to stuff it...

Wow! I think that's what people would refer to as a mouthful! Believe it or not, I do understand your perceptions. I can accept or respect anyone as a fellow human being, but it changes somewhat when I hear that they are gay. You're right . . . that really isn't "the norm," and of course Hollywood will always portray it as acceptable. And calling it a "lifestyle" only clouds the issue. By that logic, one could say that Attila the Hun simply had a "healthy, outdoor lifestyle." By the way, I'm a "real man," and my wife grabbed me up the first chance she got!
