Marrise The flowers used to be grown by weavers who worked from their small cottages, competition was fierce it was a a true honour to grow and take the winning flower.

Many moons ago, when I first rented this, my shack on the outskirts of Blogitville, I made a vow to myself that I would respond to all my kind visitors, and even the unkind ones. And I kept my vow – for a while. But then, I suddenly realized that my time began to shrink! Not everybody’s, just mine! The explanation for this occurrence can be found in Einstein’s Special Theory of Relativity, which I won’t bore you with. Let me just say that it was ultimately an irresistible attack by the laws of physics that made me break my vow.
However, I am always delighted to find others who have not been thus attacked, and enjoy their responses to my comments. Especially yours, I must say, since they tend to exhibit a very pleasing playfulness…
And your poem? I love it! You have an uncanny talent for introducing an amusing note of menace into your seemingly casual songs…

Such a beautiful and otherworldly flower. These are true enchantment; I agree that editing would diminish them. I hope your friend is better. The story seemed to go with the flower.

Thank goodness you agree Pat. I know some folk just want to go onto the next blog and I was thinking it is such a waste of effort if the reply is never read. Obviously the system is wrong, so one must try and work within it. I shall put you down as reply to comments.

Oh CC, you've just written the thing I've wondered about.
I love to read comments, and often go back to posts where people have written interesting things (to me or to others) and check out the responses. I have not been good about responding to comments - it's a hit-or-miss thing. Great idea, to ask your readers what they prefer.

Taps I enjoy replying to comments but if no one reads them it is a waste.I will book you in as reply to comments.The old song is quite right but I never understood it quite it was a bit embarrasing turn round at the same time. Those flowers a a real pain through the winter I am trying a new system putting the older ones in the garden, I don't like throwing them away as they charge 5 pounds each for a tiny plant.

I enjoy any and all comments that anyone really wants to make to me. But, I never want anyone to feel that they must comment to me to keep me reading their posts and commenting to them.

Yes I did not explain it too well Ray some like to come back and read the comment on the previous comment Else or EE used to do it meticulously, but could not hack it in the end. I would not expect you to want any more than one peep at the moment, so as you say be careful. And thank you I suppose thank you would not take me too long just to show the comment had been read if anyone was curious.

I am full of plans for my garden once the snow and slush are melted and the warmer weather comes along. I suppose i shall do about half of what I plan.

The picture and writing. Do you mean responding to comments left on a post? If so, I used to be meticulous about doing so but I simply don't have the time or energy to keep up very well this go round, though I still try sometimes. If it comes down to either/or commenting on others is more important - my opinion.

Loved the flower as did Kabu, and enjoyed the post, quite full of fun. Now my trouble is reading the post and then having to comment on the poetry below it. My mind is non-retentive and I forget what the other post was about. Now, no I don't think you have to comment back in your own blog comments to our comments but I'd miss you if you didn't comment to my post as I comment to yours. Now you'll just have to deal with all my 'comments' here.
