Such an uplifting and lovely post, BrightIrish!
The picture is wonderful and your words a delight to read - I love the story of Helen Keller - she became quite the fighter for liberty and peace in her time.

Thank you Wiley .. It's good to be back even with all the catching up there is to be done . Knowing you and Helen and the love that exists between both of you is by itself a true expression of love and inspiration!

It's so nice to read you again BrightIrish! I have read the exact same things about Miss Annie. Her little brother James-Jimmy, as she called him-died when he was only five years old.
Annie did finally go blind, something that saddened Miss Helen greatly. But I don't believe their ailments are what bonded the two ladies so tightly. I know that Annie cared deeply for and about Helen. I believe she saw Helen as the child she somehow understood she would never have.
Annie was a woman of great generosity, compassion, love and strength. For that, the world should be eternally grateful.

A long-lasting, burning love can apply to many different scenarios, just as it can apply to different people, although the circumstances may vary. The burning love I feel for my mom is somewhat different than the burning love I feel for my wife, yet each will have a long . . . and strong . . . life of its own.
