I think folks read and write as fast as they can in order to get through it all. I only seldom make comment on my comments and usually when a question is asked, again it is a time thing I think...I don't know...I'm confussed.

Waterkat I try to put the persons name at the start when replying to a comment, of course sometimes I forget and sometimes when I feel lazy I just put the initials WK something like that. Sadly new arrivals are very often not aware that they should comment on others blogs and I think they become despondent when they do not receive many comments themselves. Of course if one is not interested in Religion one cannot expect someone in Humour to make the effort. I think really it would be better for a person to have one blog and display all interests in that place, therefore picking up comments for certain aspects of the work.

I miss the old days when I first came here and people used to use someone's
site to banter back and forth.

Hi WaterKat
I try not to complain (too much) about these things but find that I agree with you. This entire platform is over 10 years old and aside from minor tweaks made along the way, has not changed much.
Comments could easily appear in order (where the reader would not have to scroll down and read up the page), the comments could easily be numbered for quick reference and the "reply" link could easily auto-fill the commentor's user name and comment number into the reply subject field. These are just simple server side code tweaks.

I have not had a problem with comments on my own blogs! I rarely read other comments simply because I do not have the time! So, I really don't know the answer here! sam

Yeah, it can be a bit confusing at times, trying to correlate the "response" to the initial comment. But I think by now everyone understands the general format, and can navigate the comment/response page with little trouble. I've learned that, when responding to specific comments, it's probably best to name the name of the person you're responding to. I try to at least.
