I have my laptop hooked up to my TV on the newer sets! But, this was great info because my daughter is moving back home and with her TV she will need this set you have described! sam

TAPS - the biggest advantages of this set up are the possibilities

Traditional TV services and their exorbitant prices are rendered redundant. All TV shows and movies are on demand and in most cases can be found for free. Telephone service costs are reduced dramatically.

My TV/Home Theater/Computer are all now one. The simple fact exists that a web enabled computer can provide an almost unlimited amount of quality viewing content, censored entirely and only by the user. It is a much more enjoyable experience than watching traditional TV.

My son did that, and until then, I didn't even know that it could be done.  His computer is attached to his large-screen tv and Dolby surround sound.  It is quite fascinating at his house.  He offered to do mine, but I like my computer and my tv separated by three rooms and a hallway for the privacy thing.  LOL
