I never cry yet you brought tears to my eyes with this and I applaud you,
you have spent your life winning the battle only to see retreat after retreat. I have watched over the last what 15 years or so the gentle quiet erosion of equality ...Oh I must stop dear Pat.

I knew you'd catch that, Naut! :) It's not the laws per se, it's the long established male-dominated tradition behind them that makes men's rights outweigh those of women. In my personal experience, we don't really have right to equal pay, the right not to be talked down to by auto mechanics, or the right not to be asked what we were wearing when we were "molested."

I don't pay any attention to Limbaugh, and of course disagree with Santorum, who will fade back into obscurity when this silly campaign business is over! But they have their views, and they are allowed to express them. However, I don't quite know what you mean when you say that women 'have almost equal rights in this society'.
Taking the term 'right' as anything that must ultimately be definable in legal terms, what rights do women not have in the USA?

That needs to be nipped in the bud! I've noticed many of the lyrics in the latest popular tunes are extemely degrading to women. Watch it ladies - they're trying to stick us back in the box!
