Beyond Now and Then
Beyond Now and Then
Do rainbows collect dust,
And who collects the raindrops?
How much weighs a drop of rain?
Who is there to measure my way
And the distance between
Now and then?
Where is “now”
A moment later,
And when will I come
To “then”?
Do I hear myself speak
Just after I’ve spoken,
Or am I an echo
Not yet come back?
Who am I?
Do you know me better
From observing me,
Or I,
From here inside me?
Am I inside,
Or outside me,
Or am I both?
I listen to me on occasion
And don’t recognize
My own voice.
Sometimes I’d rather
Listen to you.
It’s more familiar.
You are my link
Between “now” and “then”.

I know men love their bikes but I was so happy when my oldest son sold his; now if the younger one would I would be in heaven so to speak! sam
