I wonder if bad things for kids haven't always been there per ca-pita, and just not reported as much. I lost 4 friends to street violence and two to suicide in the mid to late 60's...All unreported for the most part. Today it seems that pants slung to low are on national news.

It was a simpler and safer times! Kids today have so many things to worry about that it seems like childhood is gone before it gets started! sam

i know that when my kids were growing up there were 2 kidnappings very close together in st louis.  one was by where i used to live and one close by where we were moving with our kids.  scary thoughts but i maintained watch but still allowed them freedom and gave them common sense tips to prevent it from happening to them.

I wonder how much of today's fear culture is wisdom and how much is a result of attempts from one company or another to sell us things

Annicita

It was a lot safer world in the past years, especially when I grew up in the 40's.
