It is amazing just how much we are relying on the various electronic devices in our lives...I wonder how more ingrained those devices will become to our daily lives.

the dating scene and a lot of marriages are not built on any kind of commitment, someone better comes along why not sleep with them, so why get married. People are having children more and more without marriage or have children and then down the road get married. Your married in the time it wasnt like that, I think more people made that same commitment. My parents had a marriage like that, I dont recal ever hearing them fight, and so when I was married I was a fraid to express my opinion and so you might say we never fought either, but with him the skirts on the other side of the fence were always better. When you made the comment to me I knew you werent aware how hard it is out here, why do you think I am still single after 28 years. So when you dont have the support of a spouse mentally and financially you tend to reach out to those that care and that was and always will be my kids. Maybe some old fashion man will come along and want to make that commitment to me, but until then I guess I will continue to give them the strength they need right now.

You are right as you said in the last post. I have been away from the dating scene too long, thankfully. I haven't a clue what cyber sex is and haven't any intention of learning. But about marriage this one thing I learned before I did it again. George and I made a covenant with God to stay married. Covenants with God are do or die. We studied everything we could find in the Bible about marriage and we have done all that to find our strength in love. Well what we found is that it is easy when following those principals, we are totally happy, I can't remember when we had a spat much less a fight. There is a right and wrong way to do anything. Believe me I know I have done almost everything the wrong way at least once. There are still people out there looking for good partners, good marriages and love.

there is
a recent movie called "The Vow" about two people who kept the Vow even when one of them didn't even remember it. Best part it is a true story...or based on one. We do need more.

It is unfortunate how people no longer respect or value marriage and the good old fashion dating scene. Meeting people someone at an event, church or through a friend, seems like too much work. I miss the days if someone needed to reach you, you had to be home in order to get the call. You are right everything is instant. No one takes the time anymore to nurture and cultivate a relationship. Most importantly it appears that morals have gone out the window. The more advanced we become technically the more warped human treatment becomes

Things always change from generation to generation, but as usual, certain types of people and certain electronic elements can make things worse than they actually are. Just as the days of professional athletes starting and ending their careers with the same team are pretty much over, I'm afraid I feel the days of 50+ years of marriage may also be over, for one reason or another. It's a shame.
