I had to come back and read this again. We know Obama is a Muslim. If all else oppose it we know that by birth, and second marriage of his mother. You do not just decide you are no longer a Muslin; nor does his behavior speak of his having a desire to do that. We know some of the nature of the religion and know one can not be indifferent to the outcome of one with his backgrond and his performance in office!

So tell me, come next January, what would a new President Romney, or President Gingrich, or President Ru Paul
start doing differently in regard to the problems of which you write concerning Islam in America, and what results can one of them expect?

I have read a lot of your posts and most times I found that I have been inflamed by the subject of Islam and Muslimism if it is called that in fact. I did come to realize that my feelings about the subject have mostly been based on the fear of Islam as simply a terrorist organization and I didn't care for them.
So I started looking for things to study a bit more about this subject and in fact my only reason for disliking Islam is that the people that killed thousands of people in the Twin-Towers were identified as belonging to that faith. My second distaste of the Muslim religion is that it is a huge part of their belief that all the rest of the non-Muslim world are Infidels.
Now putting all my rhetoric and negative feelings aside, I can see that a lot of changes have to be accepted, but I do think that could all turn into a religious form of fascism if we aren't careful.
I'm not sure that one man like Obama can be responsible for all of this, even if his lack of knowledge is bringing America into a darker place. The answer to that is an election of course and who knows what person will replace him.
I do like what I am reading in 'The Future of Religion' so therefore I share this passage which seems to have a great bearing on all that you write.
" By way of a reaction against the deficiences of societies forged by liberalism, religions will be increasingly popular as a way of sanctifying moral absolutism, social conformity and uniformity of mind. Christian hierarchs today are often in league with liberalism, because a society based on the Christian principles of charity should, in principle, resemble the society of tolerance which liberals want. It cannot be denied, however, that Christianity and liberalism have a long history of divergence and could revert to a sort of natural hostility in new culture wars. Islam. too, has had its domesticated liberals. The justification of pluralism is precious to some Islamic thinkers today, especialy in South-east Asia, where the ethnic and religious mélange is as thoroughly mixed as any region of the world. I want the alliance of religion and liberalism to continue; it will only have a chance of doing so if we are aware of its fragility and defend it against its foes." (Felipe Fernández-Armesto)

I have been keeping this in mind since he was elected! I didn't vote for him then, didn't attend his rally in my town and I will emphatically not vote for him in November! When folks I know who voted for him complain about how things are going on in this country, I remind them they brought it on themselves when they voted him in! Also, I call a spade a spade and that's exactly what he is avoiding! It is nothing but terrorism hiding behind Islam! The things they
do to their own people, especially women, in the name of Islam is appalling as well! sam

I read both of Obama's books written before he ran for president. I don't remember which of them had this in it, but he said if the states became involved in war against Islam he would have to side with Islam. These are not the exact words but takes in the total concept. He does not have the best for this country at heart at all.
