Re:
What's the point? What's the point of going to a theater to watch something entertainming to forget about life for a while, and then playing with your cell phone? It continues to boggle my mind!

It is even worse in the theater, the light gives them away.

Re:
See, I used to think that cell phones were primarily for emergencies, that people wouldn't necessarily feel the need to be using them constantly . . . especially during meals. What a terrible blight on our society today!

Re:
Yes, it is sad. Unfortunately, I see it all the time. But silly me, I actually thought people would put their stupid phones away for an hour during a Valentine's Day dinner. What was I thinking??

Re:
Wow, I never contemplated how dear Miss Emily would feel about such things, but you're right. She probably IS spinning in her grave!

I so agree, people are so into electronics they cant even have a conversation. My daughter does that to me all the time. Most the time I dont even have my phone with me, as she is almost the only one that texts me anyway

I can just imagine what Emily Post would have said about such a thing as texting at any meal, any place. If she could read your "post" she would turn over in her grave.

Re:
Perhaps. However, they weren't home at the breakfast table; they were out together in a restaurant. And secondly, like Kabu mentioned, isn't that unbelievably rude to be out together for a Valentine's Day dinner, and be texting other people? I, and my wife, think it is!

Re: what a nice day you presented to your wife, years of loving gestures
Thanks. Yes, I spoil my wife, but she is well worth it. I guess the "youngsters" could learn a thing or two from us "adults."

I would not text if there was a meal in front of me at a restaurant! I can't imagine what could possibly be so important as to interrupt a outing on a special day! sam
