Re:

Me too. In my opinion, those types of blessings and a huge amount of luck seem to go hand-in-hand. Even now I'm personally impressed by the WWII vets still alive who have their own tales of survival to tell. Korean War veterans as well. Again, count your blessings, people!

Re:

I knew this man wasn't the only person to live through such difficult situations, but one of the few that I actually had the pleasure to interact with on a daily basis for quite a spell. Like I wrote, we should all be so grateful for our daily lives!

Re: So very true and a wonderful post. What a positive person this Supervis

I actually ran into this man once or twice after I had left the Rickel's, but then lost touch with him completely. I would love to talk with him again. Glad you liked the post.

Re: JimmyA, you're absolutely right....

That's true. Each day is a blessing, regardless.

My BIL was just like that after he came back from Nam! And my son who has just returned from Afghanistan is carrying similarly to his uncle! One has to be at the very worst of situations, come through, and appreciate what it is all about just like the man you described! sam

JimmyA, you're absolutely right....

counting our blessings in stead of our hurts should be an every day happening...it never gets boring because there's always something new....
