Re: Just a thought of comparison
That's true. "Grace Under Pressure" is a wonderful attribute. However, I believe that Payton's "time" may be winding down, while Eli's career begins to take off. Both will eventually be able to walk off into the sunset, heads held high. People will be talking about the Brothers Manning as quarterbacks for years to come.

Just a thought of comparison
Eli is in Payton's shadow no more. I would not say he is better, but simply that he has marked his legacy in his own way. Payton's legacy--aside from one Super Bowl win--is his remarkable precision, efficiency, and massive statistics. Eli's legacy is more his winning dimension, the ability to excel when it matters the most.

Re:
Yeah, he's a cutie who understands his position and handles it well. All week now I've heard all sorts of speculations about how the Superbowl may have turned out differently except for a few dropped passes or a call that could have gone either way. The bottom line is, like you said, to win it all you must play the full 60 minutes. Anything less and . . . well, that's why the Giants came out on top!

Lesson to the Patriots, play for a full 60 minutes! That was an amazing set of statistics! And the moral of the story, never count Eli out! I have never been happier for a QB in the NFL, EVER! He is like the boy next door with his wonderful demeanor! Low key and humble as the day is long! sam

Re:
It's true. There are many athletes in many sports who have set certain records or have certain numbers, but never won "the big prize." I think they would trade any of their personal accolades for at least one championship ring of their respective sport. Very few people remember who came in second. Go Dolphins!

Very interesting. I wonder if the numbers can get arranged for a lottery winning?
I am a Dolphin fan since Shula days. However, I like the Mannings as a family. Peyton could not win against Florida, Eli did. Peyton did not win the Heisman, though a National Championship. I like it when people do not get the top currently perceived top prize, then later get/win a better prize. I think that is so fantastic.
Hallie Berry was runner up for Miss America, then won an Academy Award! I love it. Thanks for sharing!!
