I agree with each of you!  I definitely know that we cannot know it all but must continuously learn, especially from mistakes.  If we continue making mistakes from the past it will be a problem for us, no one else!!

Thank you for giving me different perspectives!  I often thought there were things that many know and do as adult without the need to be told repeatedly.  In my family, I am realizing that what I learned to practice professionally, so many in my family are deficient in the areas of their need.  Rather than, listening or asking me for advice, they listen to other dysfunctional individuals, then copy, compare and compete with me. This leads to more dysfunction and necessitates action on my part.  They do not like it.  I must defend and protect myself from anyone with intent to do me harm, verbally and physically.  It is a terrible spot when one has to protect self from those who normally are their for support and protection!!

I say that for me after. Through time I am able to gain perspective to learn from what happened before and during.

We all learn from mistakes, and we all learn as we go each and every day. The trick is, remembering what you did learn, applying it to each situation that calls for it, and then keeping an open mind to learn something new again. One can never know everything, no matter how hard you try!

Good question.  I'll have to think about that.
