Naut..we have a sports doc down here in Essex County who sounds just like

this guy (I haven't been to him, but I know others who have)....no one will ever unravel our healthcare system at this point...(I'm not knocking it completely - I was amazed at how quickly I was booked for what I'm having done on Monday)....

Just caught up with all the news; hope you're doing well.

I never thought about their patient selection. It makes me think. Hopefully something does get done to fix the problems.

It looks like that is what we are in for since we elected that person. If we elect him again there will probably be more funeral homes than hospitals. You have really been having a time of it. I am glad you are doing well and back with us.

In consideration of all of this, I pray that I won't be one of those "I've fallen and I can't get up" people.

WOW! I guess they have to do what they must to earn their living but it would seem to me that the health of anyone would be put to the front instead of picking and choosing based on the rate of success! sam

If our president has his way soon even the US will be a single tiered plan and then there won't be enough doctors in North America to go around and we will all wait in long lines to see over worked doctors in over crowded hospitals who won't be paid enough to care. We will just be another number in a long line of numbers the doctor has to see before he can go home.

Any foreigner wanting to take up permanent residency in New Zealand,

another socialized-medicine nation, must pass a medical exam, and part of that is based on weight, smoking, and other considerations for future health issues.  My son-in-law had to lose weight to get his residency there approved. I'd have a really hard time getting in, on my own.

Well, in consideration of all this, I've decided not to move

to Canada and take advantage of its medical benefits after all. Sounds like every system has its drawbacks. :)
