Re: Yeah, well, they started it. Seriously, in getting to the fun of the

poem I allowed a kind of triumphal tone to creep into stanza two that some have found distressing.  I'll "take it under advisement" as my sister-in-law would say.

This dosen't sound like you Bob, beheading trees. I think of your yard as a green thumb reward...No weeds please.

Re: She's read your erotic verse and doesn't want to talk to you without a

cop and lawyer present.  You'll have to trust me on this, but my flowers - like my good looks - are the envy of the eastern seaboard. Camera makers haven't found enough pixels to do justice to either.  Trust me.  (Would I lie to you?)

Stop bragging Bob You and I know your garden is full of those plants that are so endearing to you and would not move a leaf in response to your rather wild claims of desecrating trees. On the other hand I liked your poem, but remember a photograph would be the easiest way to settle this claim. I would like to have a quiet word with Ginny.

Boy, I'm glad this comments page exists! No, I don't hate trees,

but those seven were not being good citizens.  It was me or them.  The idea of the weed consequences fascinated me.

Re: Bob

True, I wasn't just giving vent to my inner Paul Bunyan.  I love the tree cover on my property, but certain trees were not being good citizens.  I have a whole lot left.

So now you have reminded me of all the weeds I have just let grow and take over my front garden, but it was amusing.......

Bob

I like your poem, but I was shocked by the occasion that gave rise to it, though your explanation shows it was necessary. This caused me to look at my own small plot, and imagine the desolation it would cause if I had to cut down seven of my trees...

Re: Nature-in-the-raw really knows how to defend itself - we have

poison ivy springing up in unexpected places.  As for the trees, we also had a heavy snow the day before Halloween when trees still had their leaves - that added weightbrought down a lot of trees and a lot of limbs that made the trees weirdly shaped and therefore dangerously unbalanced.   I'm really not looking forward to the effects that will have in spring.

we had to cut down a few trees as well.  Then cut back alot of the weeds that had grown since I was unable to go out and do it because there is so much poison ivy in our yard and behind the house.  So even when we get rid of it in our yard it still grows back from the other side of the fence

Re: You chopped out seven trees?

Indeed I did!  Three were dead or dying and the others were up to no good - we were lucky to get through that hurricane without their coming down expensively.  The ones left I cherish, being by nature a tree-hugger.  It was something I'd put off for too long.

You chopped out seven trees?

You didn't know they made nearly half the oxygen you need each day? As for the weeds, advancing army though they be, can't make up that oxygen deficiency.
