i cant imagine living there where this takes place.....i remember the media going to the zoo to try to catch the groundhogs but there were always seeking shelter....

It is probably the little child memories that invoke this feeling , I think it is rather nice and homely in a way. Sadly I would not know a groundhog if I met one,

He does get his 15 minutes of fame annually! And, it cracks me up to see the grown men in their dress as though it was the only thing going on in the world! lol The youngsters get into it and you are right they know more about this event than the things they should! But I can imagine it is exciting for them because they are still green so to speak! sam
