Re: It's a little pricey, but if you consider it the equivalent of dinner

and a movie, it comes out just about right!

Re: Hi Bob

Amanda6, I read your tribute AND your humorous pieces (punctuation funeral, sash weights, etc). You have the wonderful quirky sense of humor that characterizes survivors.

Yes I'm a New Yorker and no I've never even BEEN to England, but I'm deeply in love with the supple English language!  I taught and read the literature for thirty-five years before trying my hand at poetry two years ago.  Back when I was a young buck of 48 (if you're counting, that's 30 years ago), I tried my hand at acting in local theater groups(that gets you deeply deeply into interpreting language!).  I did my last role in a stage version of M*A*S*H two years ago.

My son of 37 years lives on Righter Street in Philly and loves the city!  A lawyer and father of two, like you he's smart and funny as hell!

Welcome to our poets' corner, and I look forward to reading more of your stuff once you get settled!

Re: Bob

My trouble with sashimi and such is that, even though I kind of like the raw fish, it all  tastes the same - tuna, eel, or whatever.  Maybe I have blunted tastebuds from all those years of smoking.

Bob

Great poem that perfectly catches the chef's rhythm! Haven't been in a while but makes me want to go again, although the show is usually better than the food! I prefer sashimi...

This poem reminded me of the Japanese steak house in my town, I love watching them prepare the meal! And it is so reminiscent of your imagery! KUDOS! sam

Hi Bob

I was highly captivated with all you wrote.  I think I read you live in NY, but from what I can hear from you, it sounds quite British.  Then I could be wrong.  One who volunteers is the most unselfish person to meet.  They are not complicated.  PS  If you have time go by my place and see the tribute I put up for all poets and bloggers.  What a wonderful family I have here on Blogit.

Re: Olives and asparagus??? I'm pretty sure you're still alive - I once

checked - but I somehow missed the photo.  Surely it wasn't on your poetry blog.  As for the chips, I'm confused.  When you come on your visit, I want to lay in honking great supplies of whateveer you snack on while drinking beer.  What I call chips you chaps call crisps, no?

Wait ... do you call french fries chips, is that it?

Re: Ginny and I usually go for my birthday to a place on

a scenic hillside near here called Mount Fuji.  From the fountains and fish to the huge red gate and the view of the valley, it's total fantasy.  And if they know it's your birthday, you don't stand a chance - they sing "Hoppy" Birthday and you get mugged by a monkey hand puppet.

Are there any Chips Bob I like chips, and olives and asparagus. What do you mean you do not know what I look like, I always post my photo on my birthday if I am still alive.

One of my favorite outings - entertainment and great food! Those guys have talent!!There's a restaurant called Kobés in Montreal - excellent - and my Japanese DIL gets to converse in her own language for a couple of hours. You've made me hungry.

Re: Dinner and a show! Yum.

I never thought of putting it that way, Pat, but you're absolutely right!

Re:You're right, but I was desperate for something that would scan.

Besides, I didn' know any Japanese martial art types.  Come to think of it, the chef was looking for an easy laugh anyway.  It's a delightful way to eat, but I can't afford it very often.
