Absolutely right. I was pushing the picture-puzzle idea too far.

It can be tricky to find that place to fit in.

Re: Neat idea! Is carving pieces cheating? It's an interesting metaphor

2902....don't we all carve our own pieces?  Directly or indirectly?  I believe we are (for the most part) in control of our own destiny.  God has a plan for us, no doubt, but, we have to do our part of work too.  It's kind of how I look at my recovery from addiction.  While in treatment, I heard many people question God or say something like, "Why doesn't God just take this away from me?" Or, "If there is a God, He would not make me go through withdrawls."  But, like I would tell them, God will meet you half way or maybe even further, but, God isn't going to do for you what you can do for yourself.  It's called sacrifice and free-will.  So, to answer your question, I don't think it's possible to cheat by carving out your own piece of the puzzle. We all do it to some extent.  Thanks for making me think!  Ace

for a life, makes me wonder what a straightedge piece or corner piece might represent.Good metaphor.

A great poem, and I know you can make the puzzel fit.
