I just found this post as I went trying to find parts one and two of your current series here. I've been away and I had no idea of what you were going through. I am so sorry ... I can't imagine how hard this must be for you. Though I did not meet him I always felt I knew Jag from your wonderful stories of him. You are lucky to have experienced such a friendship sweetie... My heart goes out to you. ((((((((((Naut))))))))))

It is always a painful time when we lose our animals; which are more like people, friends and confidants than animals. They fill a space in our hearts that no one else can! I lost a cat of 14 years that got sick and died within a few days in the vet clinic and it broke my heart.. but a few months after her passing, we adopted another cat and she helped fill that void. She is now about 9 years old and has cancer of the nose and I don't expect her to live too much longer. I am not looking forward to putting her to sleep. I have told her to "let me know when it is time".

Hey Naut! I know you are still in pain but I just had to come to tell you that I just read that the Wings and Leafs will get together for the outdoor classic in 2013 at the 'Big House' in Ann Arbor! It's tentatively scheduled for the 1st! It is going to be such a great game with over 100,000 spectators! I hope you are doing a little better although it is never easy! sam

Naut
You’ve written any number of posts about your beloved Jag. You wrote about him as though he was you’re best friend and I’m sure he probably was. It will feel empty without him for some time. I’m so sorry for your loss.

I can understand your anguish and emptiness...I had to make the same decision for my dog; he too had a tumor in the stomach. The Lord grant you peace.

Well Naut he had a happy life and you did a brave thing. I know the torment this can bring, but you have no sad memories of suffering to contend with. You made one little life happy.

I am truly sorry for your loss of your JAG. I really had a connection to your doggie, we are both JAG you see, the initials of my real name and his name. In addition to that, his close friend has been my close friend for many years now and I feel very sad for him too.

My heart is breaking for you and also for us. Jag has been as much as a member of Blogit as any of us and we will miss him.
Much love to you my friend and may Jag find his promotion to heaven to be a peaceful journey.

O Naut, I am so sorry! And you are right, I felt like Jag was part of my life [even from this great distance], too! My heart aches for you as I write this with tears in my eyes! I know you did the right thing by not allowing him to suffer for the selfishness of keeping him with you! My sincerest condolences! I will keep you close to my in my thoughts and I will be praying for comfort for your family! sam

I am so sorry. Your stories about your friend Jag have often
been the highlight of my day. I know you'll miss him terribly, but I have to think you and your LSW did the right thing by him, saving so much suffering and distress. I hope your grief and loss soon mellow into a celebration of the time you shared.
