Re: What does the ^ stand for?
t^2 - s^2 means t squared minus s squared.
The ^ to mean exponeniation is a new convention, brought with the personal computer usage.
I'd love to discuss more math with you.

I'm trying to figure out some of this for myself to exercise my old brain, but it has been 60+ years since I had algebra in school so I need to know, in this equation:
t^2 - s^2 = 2047, what does the "^" stand for?
