Re: At that rate, mine would be overpriced. But you and I clearly

agree that writing comments is vital to keeping a healthy, thriving blogsite - we all signed up precisely for that very thing: to get feedback.  It takes the newcomers a while to learn that it's a cooperative thing, that we all need and give support.  As for using the Erin poem this weekend at Olive's you may be right.  I may NEED something to offset the rhip-hop stuff I posted the other day.  A lot depends on the age of the audience because at the heart of this present poem there beats the heart of an old man.

Re: Sam, congratulations on your big day! He's a lucky son!

And you're right, the Fantasy Football idea is good but needed help, so I hit on the idea of using it at both the beginning AND the end.

Re: I'm sorry, T. Having been an English teacher for 35 years,

it's a part of me that dies hard, even though I retired in 1993.  But our tastes in poetry agree - that poem of Byron is absolutely lovely!  I can see why you saved it.  I don't think I've ever read a more beautiful tribute to a woman's special beauty.  He uses so many dazzling images to get his description just right!

Re: Eye candy! THAT'S the expression I was looking for! Thank

You!  Yes, she was all that and more.  I would have liked to have had a drink with her and talked, that's all.

Not only eye candy, huh? I like it - I enjoy your way with words.

Hey Bob perhaps one for your concert night. Especially if they know to whom you refer,

must not mention names of course, I am knackered I have been knocking up comments for three hours. We ought to get paid for the hour. At least a dollar, how does that sound to you.

I love this one! I kept reading and reading and reading and wondering where the fantasy football was in all of this, and then out of nowhere, there it was! Touche and well done and kudos and bravo! sam

Oh those sausey weather women.....  (You're right - the last part of my poem was inspired by Byron though I had to look it up.  I'm notorious for jotting down a turn of a phrase, something someone says in a movie, or an expression from a poem I've read and tossing it into a folder.  I rummage through the folder from time to time and sometimes the bits of paper inspire me though I often forget where I picked up the "nugget" in the first place. So I did some sleuthing  and sure enough in the case of yesterday's poem the close was was Byron inspired.)

You describe the local news in this nation to a key Bob, and then the wishing for youth and the crush at the end, great work. I do want to thank you for your kind remark today. I hope you don't mind, but I posted it with the work, it is so hard to get folks to read anything of length and could not think of any better advertisement. I did change the first stanza...Thanks for the heads up.

Re: Bob, Erin sounds like the petite little natural blonde on Canada's

Thank God someone else knows what I'm talking about!  It's one of the great unsung benefits of television, Rumor! Not a big thing, but I'd rather not do without.

Bob, Erin sounds like the petite little natural blonde on Canada's

Weather Network...she's cute, has a naural smile (not one of those that look painted on), and smart...but man, she does make it difficult to concentrate on the weather forecast....

Re: You're right though, about the news & weather presentation.

The parade of gorgeous women on TV news and weather is a startling and - I suppose -pleasant development.  But what OTHER qualifications do they bring to the job, I have to wonder?  That's what made the young woman I call Erin so very appealing, her openly shared wit and intelligence.  Truth be known, those two qualities are, unintentionally, very sexy in themselves, forget the looks.  Join them with a friendly, curious disposition and you have a very, very attractive woman.   With looks, too, the sky's the limit!

Re: You are so right, Raphael. Sex can really bring out a

guy's inner moron, cant't it?  I mean, nothing had changed: whether she was married or not, I was still free to fantasize - but somehow the knowledge that she was not available changed things! Yep, as wild as it is, fantasy football's much saner!

You're right though, about the news & weather presentation.

Meteorology is much sexier these days.

I know how you feel.

Yep, there's always fantasy football. But it's not as good.
