session) last week, but it still hasn't come.  I'll ask when I see him again this week.

Maybe a video of your hip-hopping that you can post on Blogit? Next best thing to a ticket....

PS, Troosha, they may have a point. Ink cartridges ARE crunchy

on the outside and chewy inside.  At least mine are.

Re: Jay, I am well and truly psyched by the possibilities of the

form!  It's easy and comes with a built-in kind of frenzy.  I have to practice it a little with my tape recorder, though, before the open-mike night in Nyack.  What a 77-year old guy thinks is cool can be pretty... well... strange.

And last night, yes, I watched 2012 on tv.  Ginny didn't like it, but I enjoyed it a lot.  I thought the special effects were outstanding and ths story was better than it had to be.

Re: Remember those fruit-scented magic markers and the problems

they caused - little kids coming home from school with technicolor mouths and sick tummies?  I always liked "Contents are hot"  and the Sears screwdrivers with the sticker "Wear safety glasses when using this device." I wonder what kinds of warning Smith and Wesson tucks in with its pistols?

Now ink cartridges?  I don't know ... Magenta always looked tasty to me!  But I doubt if I'd ever catch myself absent-mindedly exploring the bottom of a whirring Waring blender, a possibility covered somewhere in their enclosed documentation, I'm sure.  Thanks for the visit!

The whole way through I was thinking "did Bob take up hip hop?"

Verry funny, 2902.  I know those little pillows say "do not eat" - so stupid - but I've also bought an ink cartridge itself that had a sticker on it "do not eat".  Yeah... like I felt like snackin on ink cartidges.

Re: wish I could be there to hear you read this one, Bob...

If I sent you a ticket, Rumor, would you ...  No, forget it.

Re: Thanks for the encouragement. Boy, is it in vogue! I

don't know what experts would say about my first effort (I'm sure there are fine points that I'm missing),  but it seems like an absurdly easy kind of poem to write.  Once you have an idea, all you need is a rhyming dictionary.

The number and length of lines are complelely up to you. As for the rhythm, that can be supplied by the way the performer reads it.

With your interest in new poetic forms, I'd be interested to hear you try it!

wish I could be there to hear you read this one, Bob...

I'd be finger snapping and toe tapping to the beat....

I love it! And why not, if it's what's in vogue then go for it! sam

My best poems are like that -- they drip onto the page

straight out of nowhere, and then there's fun fun fun 'til daddy takes the T-bird away.

Re: Yes! Ray Bradbury used to say about his stories that he'd create

a character and then follow him around with a typewriter, recording what he said and did.  Poems are certainly like that. Sometimes it starts with a line, an image - even a word - and I go on from there with no clue where it will head.  Sometimes the place it leads me to is better than where I started, so I chuck out the beginning!  And, of course, sometimes it just leads nowhere.
