Yes, cleaning out the house is in a way like beginning the funeral early. What's worse is that we won't be able to afford a service for my dad until summer.

My heart goes out to you during this difficult time...I remember helping to clean out one grandmother's house. It was such a horrible feeling.

A lonely task, but your daddy as you knew him has gone, he may have been happy in a strange way at least he was not out in the cold as some are. Sometimes we have to harden ourselves to be able exist in a way we think is normal.
