Don't worry

Everyone's allowed to vent. That's what makes us human. That, and our ability to talk, think, walk up-right, and complain about the others who talk, think, walk up-right, and make life a little tougher for the rest of us. Hang in there!

I think Blogit is a good release and it affords one the opportunity to gain insight from the eyes of others. I have gotten through a tough year and it has a lot, a very lot to do with the support of people I care about on this site, too! So, I read your post earlier and I thought through it. I know you have and continue to have the oddest of things happen, and it's damn tough on you and your family. Now, I thought about the checks not clearing and then I wondered if you were utilizing a budget. I assure you that a household budget is paramount to solving the money woes. If you do have a budget then determine your discretionary money, that is the money that is left over from the monthly expenses. Then you figure out what you are doing with that money and determine ways to take money out of it to build a safety valve in your checking account. I personally work to a level that will cover my bills for the first two weeks of the month. It truly doesn't matter how long it takes, it matters that it happens. It can be tough, and I mean that because for the last 3 years I have lived on $25 per week for food, cleaning supplies, and hygiene, etc. Trust me it can be done. One has to choose other avenues for entertainment and the like as well as utilizing coupons. I am near the end of the long haul and by May I will increased my discretionary money by four fold. It was worth it because I do not miss payments or have checks returned. You can achieve this, too! It takes a little work and monitoring but you will be greatly rewarded in the end. I would suggest putting a three year plan together because it seems to work out very well that way.

I read where you made your daughter's payment. I help my daughter as well but I am only her vehicle for payments, she must submit her funds to me every two weeks at the specified amount! Also, I require her to keep a minimum of $400.00 in my checking account because it covers the first 2 weeks of each month. And secondly, once she is paid out of her mess she will have the money to open her own account and be set for the first two months. She has been on a 3 year plan and by May she will see an increase of discretionary money to one full paycheck per month! It wasn't easy for her but to let you what she accomplished I would like to share it with you. She paid $5,000 in medical bills, two credit cards totalling 3,500, miscellaneous bills of $700, has  not missed a payment on her student loan for 30 months, never late on her phone, electric, gas or rent. This is a significant achievement because by the time she came to me she was being pursued, and I mean pursued by law firms who doubled as collections agencies as it were. None of this comes without a price or burden because all these months I have had to utilize 85% of her check. She does have an advantage which created the opportunity to get out of debt sooner was due to her tips from work. That also gave her an understanding how to work with cash so that in the future she can use checking for bill paying only! I hope you can do something like this with your daughter so that she can gain an understanding and you both have the money in the bank to cover what needs to be paid at the beginning. It makes life easier and it helps the kid we're trying to help become confident in paying and assuming debt.

She has become very frugal but still finds a way to do things that don't require money. The last two months she has maintained a level of product sales at the corporate percentage and received a hotel stay for one night and two movie tickets. And then she watches Craiglist for free tickets to different events. You would be amazed at the things people give away.

I know this going on forever but I was compelled to share. The other things going are just so out of your control when it comes to any government. I would definitely make an inquiry as to what has to be paid and make sure you get a copy of your cancelled check to avoid other complications.

I know all of this seems overwhelming since you face a new crisis almost on a daily basis but you have to start somewhere and the budget is the first best place for me. Also a list of sorts of things you anticipate that need attention, and there are times when we simply can't do anything about any one crisis and we must let it go, truly let it go. You should only undertake what is reasonable and of your own interest, not what you would like to do or from any other pressure from anyone who is not doing all they could possibly do for themselves.

You can get everything solved that you are currently faced with but it takes time and good old fashion planning, and staying with the planning til you are home free. I didn't mean to go on and on but I was compelled to share these humble thoughts. Take care of you first Lustor and I mean that sincerely!!!!!!! sam
