My sister in law was telling me about this one! She said she saw it on America's Funniest Home Videos! I thought it was hilarious, too! Happy New Year! sam

Strat,
I did recently hear about the time that a young woman took over the holiday cooking and hosting duties from her mother, for the very first time. She had carefully observed her mother preparing many such Thanksgiving and Christmas turkey-based meals over the years and she now proudly showed the family that she had been paying close attention, and wasn't just another pretty face.
After mealtime, as everyone sat around the living-room loosening belts and fighting off the inevitable avian caused lethargy, Mom couldn't resist asking her daughter about the one thing that had her puzzled, regarding the meal preparation. She asked why Daughter Dear had placed an aluminum collander over the bird, while it thawed in the sink. The answer was, "That's the way I always saw YOU do it, while growing up!" Mom didn't see any logic in this answer, and rebutted, "But you don't ever OWN a cat!"
Foolish woman! She doesn't realize that our cats all own US!

a wonderful way to end the year...reading Strat again and happy New year
for 2012.
I once got onto a commuter train in Sydney with a girl friend....we were women, late 40's I suppose, not school kids.
There were lots of empty seats in the carriage but I stood next to a chap with an empty seat beside him...he was very dirty very full of alcohol....I said to my friend..."You can sit here, I am going to sit over there.'
I went and sat in a different part of the carriage and left her looking at the man and not sure what to do. No way was she going to sit, but she felt rude to him by following me
She offered to murder me if I ever did such a thing to her again..
