...oops ... and then someone gets up and belts out "Feelings" offkey- that's my cue.  For me, the payoff was never audience approval but the triumph over my shyness!  My mother used to say that people don't pay as much attention to you as you think.  She was so right.

The penny had dropped Bob I just read Karaoke I thought it was Japanese for love handles.

That's cute.
One thing I have never done is sing for karaoke night.
I don't have the nerve.   Sis is good at it though.  She does a good Patsy Cline.
