Re: butterfly
I love your perspective. So much energy is put into coping that it is sometimes hard to look at the eternal future. Merry Christmas.

You are so right! We are survivors, but it takes a lifetime of letting go so we can move beyond it. Merry Christmas!

It takes a lot of time and distance to get perspective on
a childhood like that. Our own brain has to acquire enough experience and understanding to find a little peace, to appreciate our own value to the world, to discover their anger was not personal to us, we just happened to be handy targets. How lucky we are to have lived long enough to stand up straight and love ourselves, to let go of that baggage, at least in part. At some point we discover we're no longer victims: we're survivors!

I, too, can relate to your memories of the past and the present joys of Christmas. It only takes a spark of what I've been through these past 4 years and back I go again, remembering things I thought I had put behind me and forgiving those who had wronged me. I believe it is a life-line process until we meet the Lord. Remember "those who overcome and perservere" will receive a crown. I can't wait to get my crown! Wishing you blessings of Christmas joy and lots of stength for the new Year to come.

this is both a time for joy and forgivingand pain and moving on, pretty
much like the life of Jesus....filled with joy and forgiving and pain and moving on to a new Testament belief.
