Re: Re: Thank you.. I don't know if you keep up with such things, but

Glad it sounds useful - I'm sure they'll be pleasantly surptised.  Merry Christmas!

Re: Thank you.. I don't know if you keep up with such things, but

Thank you for that information. The wife of my close friend (they've been married 53 years!) has Parkinson's disease. I'll tell him about the Scrabble games - it may help them too. Merry Christmas!!

That's true, Jay. It's a connection that's pleasanter than most caregiving

tasks but in some ways the most important of all.  We do it daily if possible.  I've learnedto let chores slide to make time for it.

It does more than that...it lets love grow.

Re:Scrabble is just about the only mental exercise she gets. And if

we've been having words for some reason, it calms us both.

Re: This is so sad and I know it can happen but it seems unfair.

When Ginny first got MS, the hardest thing to get over was "Why me?"  I've never seen her - or anyone else, for that matter - cry that way.  Hardly any sound, just rocking back and forth with her mouth open.  It was awful, but she's pretty much at peace with it now.  Now it's a question of her memory and things.

How sad, but you are so right! My daughter loves to play Scrabble® and it is a Christmas Eve tradition at our house! sam

Lo Bob I just had to say how touched I was to read this. Sadly beautiful. Always on Journal for replies to poems.

Thank you.. I don't know if you keep up with such things, but

Barnes and Noble just began selling oversized Scrabble games - tiles and board seem half again as big as regular size.  Overpriced, too, but I didn't wait for a sale.  We've used it twice, now, and it really helps.

I can't remember having read any poem so poignant as this one. Well done.
