Empty nest...

It is great when they come home for the holidays.  For the gravy, my wife likes to use cornstarch for thickener and there is a special flour now, Gold Medal Wondra quick-mixing that says deliciously smooth gravy every time.  It is in package that is about the same size and shape as a Parmesan cheese container, so it won't be in a bag.  I also saw a cook on TV say you can run lumpy gravy through a blender.  Hope your day goes smooth!

I felt so happy for my sons to be independent yet...it hurt as well...mixed emotions....but i know your meal will be wonderful because it will be a loving gift from you.

It is emotional when they grow up and start their own lives! But look forward to that chapter too and it will ease the anxiety! Take it from, having gone through it 3 times, you will survive and be all the better for it! I worry about the gravy, too and that is why I always have a store bought jar of it on hand so as not to spoil all the other hard work! sam
