You said a mouthful, Editormum
The failure to accept responsibility is the central theme of abuse, isn't it? My former partner calls me "deranged," and he was calling me that before I went public with my bipolar. He'd have a field day with it now, except that I'd find a way to use his dislike of my honesty to gain publicity (and therefore money) for this blog. Who knows, maybe they delude themselves into thinking they're telling the truth when the fact is they lie through their teeth at every opportunity just to maintain control over the victim. To quote Daffy Duck, "No more for me, thanks - I'm drivin'."

Excellent post!
You are so right. My ex never let me give my opinion, and, when I dared to do it anyway, he made fun of me. When people tried to explain why I left him, all he would say when they told him that he was demeaning and abusing me was "Yeah, but she...." He couldn't take responsibility for what he had done. Ever.
