As far as Newt goes, I cannot get past the ugliness of his personal life and all of the "mistakes" that he has made. How could that not effect what he would do to our country if he had the chance.

If I were an American, I would prefer Gingrich! But I don't think he could beat Obama, since I think he's seen as too 'high-brow' by many Americans. That's why I would ultimately choose Romney, since I think he can beat Obama, who's a disaster. I say that not because of his domestic policies, which are none of my business and the complexities of which I have not concerned myself with, but about his foreign policy, especially in the Middle East, where he and his people are a) out of their depth generally and b) have changed the traditional American Israel policy, both of which have contributed to c) the de-stabilization of that area.

Re: You make some good points. Bottom line,
Pat B, I certainly agree with you. We need one with the total package, not one with a little of this and not enough of that! Solid ethics, intelligence and wisdom ARE REQUIRED in my view! Thanks for commenting.

You make some good points. Bottom line,
if the election were next week, I could not vote for any of the GOP candiates. They're like the seven dwarfs -- they look the part, but none of them have all the qualities we need: intelligence, wisdom and solid ethics.

Newt knows how to get things done. He's the only one who could beat Obama.

I like John Huntsman...
The main issue? He likes to ride dirt bikes and has done a lot to promote motorsports in Utah. Dirt bike riding forces one to balance risks with rewards. Would he make a good president? I know as much about that as would any of the others make a good president. Oh, and he also knows China, something I don't think we can understate.

Well, no kidding around, I'm partial to Newt and he's the only American in the race that has no hint of BS about him and is a marvelous debater. It's obvious to me that by the vile manner that Romney and Bachman address him, look at and by times lie about what he has said or done, he will be successful at winning the nomination. I also believe he is the only one capable of beating Obama. Now I am a Canuck so please understand I don't want to offend, I just am tremendously interested in the U.S.A. and how she winds up.

Always fight the good fight
As for your "horse and cart" analogy, remember . . . sometimes the cart is too heavy for one horse to pull, or the horse might simply be too weak. Although obviously there can only be one president, it's going to take a "team" effort to right this sinking American ship!
