How he felt with your wanting that from him, and how he feels, knowing
that you have that piece of him--what was in his hands is now in yours--like holding hands across time and distance--means far more than someone who lacks the empathy and imagination to understand. You feel as you do about one, and as you do about the other.
Which feeling will you feed?

lovelylady, your request of him was not silly in any way....
But that lady's comment back to you was past the point of silly - it was completely uncalled for and completely insensitive...she has no business judging you...try to let go of tha pain she caused you...give it over to God and let Him take care of it.

Thank you for speaking to my heart and giving
a voice to exactly how I feel during this time.

Don't worry about her judgement, it's only a reflection of her issues. Do what makes you happy

Insensitive individuals cannot see from the eyes or experiences of anyone other than their own. They are unaware of their rudeness! If you can let go of the pain/hurt of the comment and realize that she may make such statements out of her own defense mechanisms!! (as a clown who really needs to cry)

No I don't think it was silly dear, we are not so sophisticated as we make out.
Why should you not seek comfort in any way you feel you need. Better to have an old shirt than a an old skunk.
