Re: fun read ...thanks

You're welcome! Although I try to be poignant with the bulk of my postings, I also try in infuse as much humor in them as well. Glad you enjoyed them.

Re:

See? I guess my "shot-in-the-dark" combination wasn't all that unusual, although it would be difficult to make "comparisons" between Tolstoy & Jesus and Stalin & Pryor!

In "Eden Express," the trio of brilliant men so often in the mind of author Mark Vonnegut was Bob Dylan, Tolstoy, and Jesus.

Re:

Believe it or not, "Between the Devil and the deep blue sea" was one of the phrases on my list that I had considered "tweaking" for this humorous posting, but for the life of me, not only could I not come up with anything comical or satirical, but I have no idea what it meant either! As far as the not-so-alike combination, they simply "came to me." I know, I know . . . a dictator, a singer/songwriter and a comedian. I wonder what Freud would have read into that one!

In a term paper in high school, I had written on the insane geniuses Adolf Hitler, Vincent Van Gogh, and Ernest Hemingway.

A phrase I first came across a few years ago in an illustrated idiom book was "Between the devil and the deep blue sea."  That one does not make much sense to me.

Also, what an interesting combination you came up with for the not-so-alike brilliant minds:  Stalin, Dylan, and Pryor.
