Re: TAPS, if my kayak cockpit COULD talk, I'd tell it to shut up about how

I get in and out of the boat.  I don't know how or if anyone can do it gracefully.  It's like an intentional accident at the beginning and end of the trip.- Bob

Re: Re:Know what it is, Jay? At my age there aren't too many adventurous

...oops ... things left for me to do.  As an adventure, taking a kayak out on a brisk fall day is pretty bush league, but it made me feel good.  I had the whole lake to myself and my thoughts.  It was special and nice. I'm reading Stephen Ambrose's book about Lewis and Clark, so in a way it fit my mood.

I like your talking kayak cockpit.  COOL!
Actually, I loved the whole thing.

I'm with you Bob...Never go into the woods this time of year without hot cocoa...A poem of your bravery facing nature like that.

Re:I don't know - kind of chilly, but not really bad. My kayak is

,recreational, not one of those whitewater-rapids-riding hotshots.  Its safe as houses as long as you don't do anything stupid.   To me, though, sailing it is still an adventure, something entirely different.  I'm looking forward to April when the season begins again.

Re:The cocoa makes the little excursion a kind of accomplishment-reward

thing.  Very gratifying.

Re: It was Nov. 29. but I'm already thinking back on it with pleasure.

I'm still not through with the poem, but I liked this draft enough to post it.

Though is sounds like a majectic and peaceful outing (and you put it into words beautifully), you're braver than me to head out on a chilly autumn day.

This was fabulous! I felt like I was there! And, one is never to old to indulge themselves no matter what the weather may be! I loved the close with the hot cocoa and I wanted some too! sam

Re: very brave you were to take that one last trip...but worth it so it

It really wasnt so bad at all.  If the water go too rough, returning wouldn't have been a problem..  My cardiologist says kayaking isn't bad, but walking and hiking are what I need.  Fine.  I refuse to even try jogging.  And I can't STAND treadmills! - Bob

Re: CC, I' m proud of this last excursion. Many thought I was a little

nuts to be doing it, but it really wasn't that dangerous and difficult.  In fact, it's pretty gentle exercise, especially since my legs seem to be getting weaker.

very brave you were to take that one last trip...but worth it so it

would seem...now put it all away and sit by the fire 'till Spring.

Yes you should wait until July Bob. Take someone with you and a telivision crew. Meanwhile I like this it flows naturally I would have like to have written myself.
