Re: Ican usually think back to where such a tune comes from - perhaps

Thanks Bob, this one was a total mystery - a tune I last heard (and disliked) 20 years ago

Ican usually think back to where such a tune comes from - perhaps

some show I've seen.  When I CAN'T is when it gets interesting:  an association might have gotten triggered, or the something in the lyrics matched my life somehow.  Right now I find myself doing Cole Porter's "Anything Goes" in my mind, and I wonder why. - Bob

I think that in order to stop that one, you have to start another.

And it is always a catchy tune from the past...my trouble is

it is usually something that I only remember the first few lines of....so those few lines hang around in my head like a bad smell....you have put the irritation to words really well.

I know what you mean! I have had a song linger for days in my brain with no relief! Great poem addressing this too! sam

Maybe life is music, and to change it we must change?

I'm guessing it's not a pleasant tune.

Goodness Lion a tough one, but it cannot be worse than me, My brother says I hum the same tune over and over and it's toneless. I think it just runs round the circuits  of the brain and is a form of therapy which does not seem to work. Goodness I hope I don't dream it as well. Thank for the informatIon
