Re: It's called the Nickel Mine. No one knows why, and not many

hikers bother with it, even though it's pretty big and impressive.  Getting there is a problem because little cairns are pretty unreliable markers, and the first hundred yards or so involve hopping around dry spots in a swamp.  That means the best time to navigate it is in the winter when the water's frozen and most sane people aren't mucking around in the woods.  Whoever did the decorating was a romantic idiot like me.  It was a magic moment at a time when, as I remember, I needed one. - Bob
