Jealousy is a disease, love is a healthy condition. The immature mind often mistakes one for the other, or assumes that the greater the love, the greater the jealousy -- in fact, they're almost incompatible; one emotion hardly leaves room for the other. Both at once can produce unbearable turmoil... Robert Heinlein quotes I hope your son would get help for that.

his dad was a very jealous man and my son is too, but he has good reason to be, but yes he does need to change that. That is what we have been telling him every girlfriend he has smothered.

I hope he gets help for the jealousy which probably comes across as controlling! If he could only understand the other person's side of it! No one wants every move they make to be watched! I think there may a little bit of insecurity for him too, he needs to get strong and trust that when someone likes him they will stay with him! The jealousy seems to divide folks rather than foster the relationship! He is deserving of happiness but he is the one who needs to believe it first and at that point I believe his tendency to be jealous would abate, and a little trust in the other person goes a long way! As far as your daughter's call is concerned, people are much braver on the phone than they are in person so I would just forget what happened and chalk it up to bad manners on the part of the other employer! sam

He certainly needs help for the jealousy. That is a killer of relationships. That is a form of control because she knows if she steps right or left he will be watching, so she can't feel free. I hope he is getting help. He needs to live on his own for a while and experience some hard knocks so he will grow into his age. He will grow if you can withdraw without being to hurt about it all yourself. You are doing great keep it up.
