Re: Comics were indispensible - like the TV or video games of

the time.  Batman I loved but never knew what to make of him, which probably accounted for his fascination, like Submariner and Green Lantern.  Captain Marvel always made me suspicious with that white cape and boots.  Spidey was a latecomer.  GreenHornet andThe Shadow were stricly radio creations for me - the comic book versions always seemed fake somehow. MAD comics wasn't really comics, but it was at least the kind of sarcasm and cynicism that I was ready for after too much of Supe,Clark, Lois, Perry White, and Lex Luthor.- Bob

Re: I KNOW you were young once! You still are, in all the important

ways.  But "Hot Dames on Cold Slabs???"  Where'd you find that one!?  (Truth to tell, it sounds more interesting than "The Man of Steel")  - Bob

Fun read.  My only brother traded comic books around the neighborhood when he was a kid.  He kept them in an old locked suitcase under his bed and he wouldn't let his sisters read them unless he wanted something from us.  He would trade a comic book read for a desired favor.

Comics Bob like gold dust, funny how they change as one matures a little. I hope you never read Hot Dames on Cold Slabs. Your next confession should prove very interesting.

Keep writing I was young once you know.I do really enjoy your blogs.
