The Occupy Movement has certainly made people think.

It's an unfortunate exercise in futility

Yes, the protesters are bringing awareness to a major problem. However, I can't help but feel that many of them are operating under the delusion that either the powers-that-be or the politicians have even an ounce of sympathy for the plight of the common man or woman. If you were sadistic enough to topple an anthill for no particular reason, would you care at all about that group of ants gathered at your feet in protest? Not likely. You would probably just move on to the next anthill.

Every other week, I read how president Obama is trying to either repeal various tax breaks for the wealthiest amongst us, or at least raise their taxes in general, and he is constantly blocked by almost every member of the Republican party. Why? Because they are some of the wealthiest amongst us! The kindergarten bully who grabs all of the toys for himself is not likely to share them with anyone, protests be damned!

The "Occupiers" in my town are not organized and really can't say what they are up to and that certainly hurts their cause! I have mixed emotions on it; we need change no doubt and if this raises the awareness needed then kudos to them! sam
