This is so true and so eloquently expressed! The first time I realized it
was at the end of the school year back when I was a teacher. We'd get our "checkout list" that we had to fill out and get different people to sign off on before we could get our paycheck - book lists, fines, AV equipment, keys, etc. What I always remember, though, were the colleagues who'd race to get it done so they could get out to their cars and leave. Me and a few others, though, relished the slower pace in our formerly frantic workplace and had a second cup of coffee while we walked our lists around to the different checkout stations. If you're in a real race, run as hard as you can - but if you're not, it's good to know the difference, right? - Bob
